We’re equipping young people with the skills and knowledge to fight for climate and economic justice.
Our Schools Program
The climate crisis is here, now. Young people across the country are concerned about the implications that this has for our lives and our futures.
But we also know that we can’t achieve climate justice if we treat it as an isolated issue. The climate crisis has been shaped by a system that values profits over people and the environment. We need solutions that address the root causes of the problem, and that ensure that everyone, no matter their race or class, is included in and benefits from the transition to a renewable future.
YOUNG has developed a schools program for older high schools students (years 10 to 12) to learn more about the connections between climate justice, racial justice and economic justice. The program will also give students knowledge about the political process and support them to take initial steps towards creating the change they want to see.
To begin, we can deliver a one-hour workshop for your students. We can also offer ongoing opportunities for students to be involved if they would like to.
There is a version of this presentation for university students, and other slightly older cohorts of young people who would benefit from this conversation.
